Here goes something...?
Hey there! Welcome to DecorJule. First, "a little" about myself and how I ended up being a "blogger?" I am not a professional interior designer. I never went to art school or do I even really know much about design in the academic sense. I simply LOVE this stuff.
As far back as I can recall, I have always wanted to have a career in the arts. At one point in my early childhood I wanted to be a chef. I vividly remember playing hooky from school so I could stay home and watch Great Chefs on PBS. I would prepare what I felt were elaborate meals from the things I was able to forage from the pantry and refrigerator of our one bedroom apartment in Hillside, NJ. My parents thought it was "cute" but eventually tired of all the food I was wasting. Food they worked four jobs between them to put on the table.
As I headed into middle school, a new prospective career light a fire in my soul. I was going to be a famous singer. I began auditioning for school musicals and singing at every family event possible. This was super fun for me and the attention I received was even better. At some point I even recorded a demo tape...(wonder where that ended up?) I loved music and all things having to do with music. I begged my parents to allow me to get a part time job after school so that I could afford to go to local shows and large stadium concerts, just to soak in the ambiance and thrill of each performance.
Then came high school. Lets just say those formative years were spent being boy crazy, rambunctious and well basically a teenage girl. I did still have my days skipping school, but this time I had a new interest and his name was Christopher Lowell. This man did room makeovers like you couldn't believe and I was hooked! I watched It's Christopher Lowell and Interior Motives religiously. I even took notes and made sketches. Since then, my love for decorating and renovation has only blossomed into a full out obsession. When I am not being a full time Sonographer , mother to my two children or a super attentive wife (small joke) I am reading about design, watching renovation television, collecting paint swatches and flooring samples, shopping for fabrics and decor, and overhauling spaces for friends and family.

I realized that once in a while I stumble on some great ideas. I also happen to find amazing deals on things that people are searching for. I have a stream of decorating vignettes in the forefront of my brain constantly and I just need to share it all!! Sorry, I get excited often. So, I hope that you find my blog entertaining and/or helpful in some ways. I will post once a week and hope that you enjoy my photos and chit chat. Thank you and till next post!
